Rafael did a fantastic job and we hope to having him perform the services in the future. He was very thorough and he explained what he was doing. We had been a customer of Levy/Service Experts since we relocated to Plano in 1995. While their service was solid, every time the came to our home they tried to sell us something rather than staying focused on the service. After 31 years, we moved on to Total Air and Heat and we are very happy. I strongly recommend anyone reading this note consider moving to Total Air…..they are also a family owned business which is a huge plus!
Response from the owner:We're delighted you had a great experience with us. Thanks for the 5-star review!

I highly recommend Total Air and Heat for all of your HVAC needs. I have been using TAH for the past 20 years+. This is the second set of air conditioners they have installed for me. The team of technicians (Jacob Stoup, Jose Ceja, and Skylar Morris) did an outstanding job with the recent installation. They were very professional and knowledgeable. Jacob kept me updated on all aspects of the installation. They cleaned and removed all of the debris prior to departing. I highly recommend Total Air and Heat for all of you heating and cooling needs!!!

Carl was good with whom to work and tried to resolve our problem. The only question I wonder about has to do with could the Freon leak have been repaired which might have allowed us to continue longer without the replacement cost we now have. I suspect not but…?

Alex arrived on time and was very pleasant and got right to work on troubleshooting the controller communication error we were experiencing with one of our units. Turned out to be an issue in our electrical panel and not anything he could resolve but he answered all our questions and provided the info we needed to share with the electrician.
Response from the owner:We're delighted you had a great experience with us. Thanks for the 5-star review!

I cannot recommend Total Air & Plumbing enough. After having another company out twice with no resolution, the team at Total Air came in and saved the day. They were incredibly thorough, found the root of the problem immediately, and fixed it for good. Their customer service is hands-down the best I’ve experienced. Special shout out to Alex (technician), Robert (duct engineer), and Noah and his team (installation) for their kindness, patience and attention to detail. If you want the job done right the first time, call these guys!

Joshua and Skyler were great. Although I’m always fearful of the outcome, as I know NOTHING about AC units…they were genuine and honest about proactive best practices.

Signs of a Gas Leak

The most obvious sign of a gas leak is the smell of sulfur or rotten eggs. Because natural gas is odorless and colorless, gas providers add a chemical to gas to give it an odor. The unpleasant smell serves as a warning that gas is leaking.

Other signs of a gas leak include:

  • Air bubbles in water or mud outside your home may be due to an underground gas line leak.
  • Gas lines connected to appliances may make a hissing sound even when the appliance is off.
  • A higher gas bill due to increased usage may indicate a leak.
  • Dead or wilting plants outside or inside your home can be a sign of leaking gas poisoning the roots.
  • Gas leaks can cause health problems, such as headaches, nausea, blurred vision, difficulty breathing or confusion. These are also the symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning, which can occur from incomplete combustion of gas.

How to Prevent Gas Leaks

Regular inspections of gas lines and appliances by a licensed professional can catch issues early and prevent them from becoming extensive or expensive problems. Deteriorating gas lines or poorly maintained appliances can quickly become hazardous.

Gas piping can last up to 50 years. Pipes are built to withstand degradation from water, chemicals in the soil and general wear and tear. However, over time, gas pipes may corrode, develop small cracks or become brittle. Regular inspections by a professional plumber can identify signs of deterioration, rust or damage. Inspections also ensure the installation meets current plumbing codes.

What to Do if You Suspect a Leak

If you smell gas, act quickly. Leave your home immediately. Take other occupants and pets with you. Be aware that any spark can ignite gas or cause an explosion. As you leave the building, do not switch lights on or off, use a flashlight or your mobile phone or light a match.

When you are outside and far enough away that you do not smell gas, call 911, your gas provider or the Natural Gas Emergency Hotline and the professionals at Total Air and Heat. Do not enter the building until professionals let you know that it is safe to do so.

Gas Line Repairs

Gas line repairs must be done by a licensed professional who has the expertise, training and tools to complete the work safely and efficiently. Total Air and Heat offers gas line repair services for residential and commercial properties. After our eagle-eyed plumbers inspect the piping system and your appliances, we will explain any issues we find and recommend solutions. Waiting to make repairs can cause further problems or become hazardous.

If your pipes are old and show signs of corrosion or severe deterioration, it may be necessary to replace them. We strive to provide an affordable, practical, long-term solution that keeps you, your loved ones and your property safe.

New Gas Line Replacements and Installations

If repairs are not possible, a gas line replacement provides a reliable solution to restore services to your home or office. We also offer hookups for new appliances, such as clothes dryers, grills, furnaces or water heaters.

If you are adding onto your home or upgrading existing gas services, our new installations include trenching to lay pipes, pipe installations and connections to indoor and outdoor appliances. Our eagle-eyed, licensed plumbers ensure that replacements and new installations meet local codes.

Total Air and Heat installs state-of-the-art appliances, including furnaces, HVAC systems and water heaters. We offer 24/7 emergency services to ensure your safety and comfort throughout the year.
