Expand Your Living Space With Outdoor Heating & Cooling

Outdoor patios are one of the most relaxing home features we can think of, especially when the weather is favorable. But in the fierce summer heat and the cooler winter evenings, many Dallas-area homeowners spend more time indoors where it’s air conditioned or heated.

Most Texans love spending as much time as possible outdoors. It’s fun to entertain in the open air when the weather and temperatures permit it. Luckily, there are some pretty simple ways to bring heating and cooling to your patio or deck so you, your family, and your guests can enjoy it all year long.

Why We Love Outdoor Gatherings

The point of having outdoor living space is, of course, to spend more time outdoors! But most people create an outdoor patio or deck to enjoy time with family and friends. Casual dining, lively conversation, and celebrating special days are somehow always more special when they’re done outdoors. With the right setup, you can mix and mingle to your heart’s content during every season.

Say Hello to Year-Round Patio Dining

There are two main ways we give our customers summer cooling and winter heating for their outdoor spaces: installing ductless mini-splits and hanging gas heaters.

Ductless Mini-Splits

Ductless mini-splits are a quiet and economical way to turn your patio, deck, or sunroom into a year-round seasonable space. This two-unit system has an air handler that mounts on the inside of the outdoor space and a condensing unit located outside the area. The two are easily connected with a small 3-inch line set (copper piping) that runs from the outdoor unit to the air handler that’s mounted on the wall or ceiling. Designed to last 15 years or more, ductless mini-split systems also improve air quality as each wall-mounted unit has its own filter.

Gas Heaters

Hanging gas heaters can be mounted high on a wall or from a high ceiling or overhang. Economical to run, these outdoor units burn hotter than electric heaters and warm up your patio quickly. Hanging gas heaters also don’t have the footprint of propane floor units, a plus for smaller spaces. And while a hanging natural gas heater can be a little more expensive than an electric-powered one, it’s usually much more cost-effective in the long run. Wiring and installation are a breeze.

No matter which option you choose, it’s easy to add some attractive curtains to block the wind on certain sides and to create a spot where everyone’s comfortable.

Innovative Outdoor Heating & Cooling Solutions

Ductless mini-splits and hanging natural gas heaters are both good choices for cooling and heating patios or decks. As the temperatures start dipping even more, now’s a good time to consider expanding your home’s living space with outdoor heating and cooling.
